About the Artist: Darrell White

'Whilst I would love to work on my art full time, it is not practical in life. So, I work on pieces when I
can. My subject can be influenced by my past, triggered by an experience or event, or merely float
into my imagination.
This has led me to produce a variety of art, from maritime history to landscapes, fantasy and even
portraits. I strive for realism in balance with what paint can convey with the flick of a brush.
I have recently received the title of Fellow of the Australian Society Of Marine Artists (FASMA) which
is conveyed to those who have attained exceptional standards in marine art and marine knowledge,
and is elected by vote of the ASMA peers.
My work has appeared many exhibitions over the years including the 1st International Online Marine
Art Exhibition. I have also had works published and also have created illustration work for
government departments around marine conservation.'
